Erasmus+ covers Europe. But the world is bigger than Europe…and so is our network. Beyond our 27 Erasmus partners, WUAS Berlin runs bilateral exchange agreements with universities across the globe, hosts Freemover students every year, and is connected to the wider Whitecliffe Global network in New Zealand, Australia, and Canada.

Partner Institutions

Bilateral partners and Memoranda of Understanding (MoU)

Outside the Erasmus+ framework, WUAS Berlin has signed bilateral agreements and Memoranda of Understanding with universities around the world. Mobilities to these partners are possible on request, for specific study programmes (never for all programmes). Our International Exchange Office maintains the full list of partners and the courses available at each.

Freemovers (visiting students)

Freemovers are students who come to WUAS Berlin without a formal exchange agreement between their home institution and us. This is a small but important audience — usually students whose home university doesn’t have an exchange agreement with us, but who still want a semester in Berlin.

Come to Berlin as a Freemover

If you’re a degree-seeking student at another university and your institution doesn’t have a formal exchange with us, you can still spend one or two semesters at WUAS Berlin as a Freemover. You’ll take courses from our standard catalogue, sit alongside our degree students, and receive a transcript at the end.

Key differences from an exchange

• Tuition is NOT waived — Freemovers pay WUAS Berlin tuition directly.
• Course selection is the same as Erasmus students — Architecture & Design and Business Administration, BA and MA level.
• Credit transfer to your home institution is your responsibility — we provide a clear transcript; the recognition is between you and your home university.
• Application is simpler — direct to our International Exchange Office, no nomination from your home institution required.
