Student Life

Begin your journey at Whitecliffe University of Applied Sciences.
Intake open now, apply for Fall 2026.

More than a qualification. A community, a city, and the next chapter of your life.

Whitecliffe Berlin is home to students from over 90+ countries. Your time here is about the friendships, the studios at midnight, the gallery openings, and the Berlin you’ll take with you long after graduation.

Community

Small class sizes mean you know your cohort. Student clubs run from photography to football. The Student Council represents you on university-wide decisions. Alumni stay connected through the Berlin International Alumni Association — mentorship, events, a global network across design, business, and architecture.

Support services

Academic Support

Personal academic advisor, writing support, and faculty office hours every week.

Student Wellbeing

Confidential counselling, mental health resources, and a dedicated student support officer. Available in English and German.

Careers + Employment

CV clinics, mock interviews, portfolio reviews. Industry events with Berlin’s design and startup community. Internship matching during your studies.

Library + E-Resources

Print and digital collections, group rooms, 24/7 online access to journals and e-books.

Accommodation

Whitecliffe Berlin doesn’t run student housing, but Berlin has one of Europe’s most active student rental markets. Expect €500–€800 per month depending on area and flat-share size. Popular student neighbourhoods include Charlottenburg (near campus), Neukölln, Kreuzberg, and Friedrichshain. We maintain a list of trusted platforms — ask and we’ll send it.

Living in Berlin

Cost of living

Berlin is cheaper than Paris, Amsterdam, or London. A monthly budget of €900–€1,200 is realistic for most students, including rent.

Working while you study

On a student visa, you can work up to 140 full days or 280 half days per year. Berlin International runs regular part-time student assistant jobs — we post openings once you’re enrolled. (🡪 might be important to link to gov website for authenticity)

Getting around

Your semester ticket covers all Berlin public transport across zones A, B, and C — buses, trams, U-Bahn, S-Bahn, and regional trains. Berlin is also one of the most bike-friendly capitals in Europe.

Culture and nightlife

Berlin’s museum landscape is one of the best in the world, and most of it is free or discounted for students. The music scene is legendary and you’ll have no shortage of weekend/nightlife for whatever your interests might be. Gallery openings, design weeks, and fashion events run year-round — a lot of them free.
