Graphic Design & Visual Communication

Certain skills are essential to an interior designer in order to transmit and visualize their design ideas. In the course Digital Media I students learn and improve their visual representation skills using AutoCAD and Adobe Photoshop.

To put theory in practice, this project proposes to design a bathhouse following the same design principles that the architect Ryue Nishizawa applied to Moriyama House. Like the Moriyama House, students are asked to create a space composed by various individual pavilions that enclose a courtyard.

Apart from some given requirements, such as certain dimensions and other necessary elements in the pavilions, students propose their own take on a bathhouse. Their designs come to life by digitally adding atmosphere and materiality to the visualizations.
