Digital Media in Product Design

Deep knowledge of a 3D modelling software is a must for aspiring designers. It is the mean of communication with engineers. Allowing designers to generate convincing and appealing images throughout various phases of the design process.
Furthermore, it empowers a designer to generate versions of one design and derive a family of object rapidly. A 3D software is also the foundation of all rapid prototyping and manufacturing processes such as laser cutting, 3D printing, CNC milling and turning, sheet metal bending and much more.
Throughout the course the students learned the basics of SolidWorks and applied their acquired knowledge to the design of a series of smart home devices.
