Bad acoustics in an educational environment can have a negative effect on student performance, but it can also simply be annoying. This project was therefore conceived as an opportunity to reduce high reverberation and improve the acoustics of Studio 1 of our campus.
Taking into consideration the research on acoustics done by the Berlin International alumnus Enrico Guerzi, students explore acoustic solutions for rooms with sound reverberation using the acoustic products of the collaborating German company OWA.
The designs for this project have to meet the technical requirements for an optimal acoustic situation while at the same time being aesthetically appealing. Students offer different design proposals to enhance the acoustics of Studio 1 using OWA canopies and modular wall absorbers.
