Architecture

In this course the students have been introduced to building theory and the practice of architecture through the research and design of a residential project located on a site in Berlin. The project development has been supported through lectures and the study of example projects.The concepts explored the possibilities of a residential project in an urban context that reacts to its site specific character and potentials.
These findings led to each students individual residential concept; these varied from a typical family home, a house for a collective, multi-generational living, work/live scenarios or any other relevant proposition that deals with the topic spatially as well as on a contemporary socio-political level.
The research and design methods should be seen as a continuation of the previous Introduction to Architecture course in a sense that strong individual narratives will be explored to form a coherent spatial concept.
